Mission

Dedham Greenspace Coalition educates and advocates to protect and expand vibrant public green spaces that enrich community life for ALL - especially those who have historically not been provided equitable access to green and open spaces.

Through community education, communication, and thoughtful advocacy, we work to ensure that Dedham’s natural and shared places remain welcoming, accessible, and thriving for generations.

As Dedham Greenspace Coalition identifies and implements best practices locally, we hope to help accelerate green/open space regionally and nationally.

Vision

We see green spaces as a key community life.
We envision a town where parks, greens, and natural places inspire learning, spark connection, and bring neighbors together, while strengthening environmental stewardship and civic pride.

Community

Green spaces belong to everyone. We believe shared places strengthen relationships, civic engagement, and a sense of belonging.

Education

Knowledge builds stewardship and constituent advocacy. We promote learning about the importance of open space, ecology, and the role green places play in healthy communities.

Communication

Strong communities grow from open dialogue. We aim to keep residents informed, engaged, and inspired through clear, accessible communication.

Advocacy

Healthy public spaces require active champions. We advocate thoughtfully and collaboratively to protect and expand Dedham’s green places.
